Marietta Martial Arts Sandy Plains FAQS
W hat age groups are included in your Kids Karate program?
We have three age groups. Ages 4-7 train together, ages 8-12 train together, and 13 & older train together.
How do you help younger students stay focused during class?
Every class we emphasize the need to focus – using eyes, ears, and brain. For kids, focusing is the hardest thing to do especially in school. So we approach focus as key component of a student’s development.
What life skills are taught in your Kids Karate program?
Our primary life skill is Future Black belt Behavior. For us, this means Respect, Focus, & self-discipline. Everything we teach starts with these three life skills. Showing everyone respect – between students, instructors, parents, and their teachers. Focus is one of the most important skills to have success at school. We are constantly reminding the students to use their eyes, ears, and brain when they are taking class. We also incorporate self-discipline in the class by reinforcing the idea of doing what you’re supposed to do without being told to do it. The best example is that students are required to bow as they enter or leave the training floor. Part of the bow is to show respect to the flags hanging on the wall. But when a student bows without being reminded, they are exercising self-discipline.
How do multiple instructors in each class improve learning?
Extra instructors allow us to give a student extra attention when they are struggling or need some extra help. Students that become confused are very likely to lose interest so having an extra instructor reduces confusion for students.
How do you make classes fun while still teaching discipline?
A fun class requires that drills keep the kids moving. Motion creates emotion so the instructors change the drills frequently to keep the kids engaged and having fun.
How often can my child attend classes each week?
Students are not locked into a certain day or time for classes. Most students attend 2 or 3 classes per week and some train everyday. The best part is that you get to choose what days and times work best for you and your family. You simply show up. You don’t have to notify us if you change a day or time. It’s 100% flexible because we know that as a parent, you have a million things to juggle with your family’s schedule.
What does “unlimited classes” mean? How flexible is your class schedule for busy families?
A student could attend everyday if they wanted to. We have classes Monday thru Thursday, plus classes on Saturday.
How is monthly pricing determined?
There are few factors that affect the monthly price. The length of the agreement and the down payment are the two biggest factors. These details are discussed with the program manager during your first trial class.
What factors affect whether tuition is $119 or $219 per month?
There are a number of options that the program manager will go over with you when you come in.
When are membership details discussed?
Since we have so many options so we can help families fit karate classes into their schedule, when you come in for your trial, a program manager will go over all of the details available and answer any questions that you have.
Who do I speak with about specific program goals and options?
The best person to get questions answered is one of the program managers available during each class. At the front counter, ask for a program manager so we can assist you.
